ACM Ministries is a faith based ministry which was planted in the heart of Aurora Castillo on a short missionary trip to Uganda in 2001. Her obedience to God’s calling is what berthed ACM Ministries.

ACM Ministries operates in the United States, Uganda, and Tanzania. The members that operate the day to day operations in the United States are Geovanni, Ketra, Oscar, and Geovanni (grandson).  Aurora runs ACM Ministries in Uganda. The ministry work in Tanzania is run by Grace Hosian.

Who is Aurora Castillo and why is she in Uganda?

Aurora was born in Guatemala in Central America. She came to the United States at the age of nine. She has lived in New Orleans most of her life and has been a member of Victory Fellowship in Metairie, LA since 1989. She has been successful in her working career and in business but her heart has always been in helping the needy and the underprivileged. She worked with Inner City children for 5 years in New Orleans. She also worked with and led an outreach for totally incapacitated children for approximately 4 years, helped by with visiting the elderly, and was involved with the Spanish Ministry at Victory Fellowship. In April 2001, she was translating for a visiting pastor from Uganda and the Lord told her to visit his church in Uganda and that God would mark her destiny there. Although Aurora was going thru a very difficult time in her life, she obeyed.

In Africa, the Lord placed in her heart His love and compassion for the people of Africa. Her heart’s desire now is to bring them the love of God, to teach, and to minister to them. She has been working in remote villages in Uganda for over 7 years now. Her vision is to reach the unreachable, to continue to open churches, schools, and to find ways of bringing not only the Living water but also find ways of opening water wells, as the Lord directs and provides.

What is ACM doing in Uganda and Tanzania?

Over the past 11 years ACM have been blessed to have opened 6 churches and 2 schools in remote villages of Uganda. We are believing for more permanent structures so that the children have a school building to learn in. In 2010 we had approximately 35 children in a school under a tent and now have over 350 children. Classes are still held under tents donated to us by Victory Fellowship in New Orleans. But we are now in the middle of building them their very own large scale school, through gifts and donations/ We are believing that by next year our students will have a school building to call their own. So they can have somewhere to learn how to read and write.

We now have Churches Mytiana, Busuma, Mbale, Palisa, Busia, and Bweyogerere. Mytiana, Busuma, Mbale, Palisa, Busia, and Bweyogerere are all in Uganda. We have one in Tanzania in Idimi. We have a school in Busuma with 255 students, one in Palisa with 675, one in Busia with 180 students. Bible schools in over 80 villages as of now and looking to add 25 more.  And we are currently operating 3 prison ministries.

We will post any updates as they come available.
